During a fawning Thursday segment with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, MSNBC hosts Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle worried aloud that Americans may “feel like capitalism is working for them” after months of booming economic numbers.
The liberal co-hosts pressed Warren on how Democrats will counteract historically good economic numbers.
“At this very moment the economy is a winning argument for this administration, for more than just President Trump’s base,” Ruhle complained, “Are Democrats making a mistake by putting forth candidates that label themselves Democratic Socialists or who hold anti-capitalist beliefs when at this moment — Americans feel like capitalism is working for them?”
Warren responded, saying “I believe in markets. I believe in markets right down to my toes. But I also believe markets have to have rules. Otherwise rich and powerful just keep sucking up all the value and everybody else ends up eating dirt.”

The general level of stupidity in politics, academics, and the media is just unfathomable.
“Capitalism” is a bad term for it.
It’s just “the marketplace”. It is ruled by Supply and Demand. It’s not going away. It has always been with us. And it works a heck of a lot better than socialism.
I think it’s adorable that these two low IQ hosts can’t figure out that the reason they have a job and a paycheck way beyond their ability to cogitate is because of that big old nasty capitalism thingy.
