In my 44 loads I also use H110/W296. Dangerous to reduce loads. If I wanted to reduce loads I would use Unique.

I see they have relocated to Florida, can’t figure out why.

Well, why would not anyone that had the chance to escape NY??

So would I. For some reason I never have though.

I do a lot of 100 yard shooting with my Thompson Contender 44 Mag, 14 inch bbl with 4x scope. It shoots best with heavy bullets and max loads of W296. I can get 1.5” groups, but not with other powders or lighter bullets. My best load so far is with the 265 gr bullets made for the 444 Marlin. I have not tried the Hornaday 300 gr XTP HP yet, but I have some to try.

Fyi I have heard people claim they routinely shoot 40 s&w in their 10 mm without changing the barrel, spring or magazine. They report no issues doing so.

The 10 millimeter is a good round but pricey. The new hot loads available in the 9 millimeter at a lower price is what killed the 10 millimeter. These hot loads should only be fired from a modern and quality weapon.

For years I was a 45 ACP man. As mentioned the hot 9 millimeter loads with higher magazine capacity have made me a 9 millimeter man.

I must admit I still love firing my 1911 45-ACP weapons but it is no longer my carry weapon.

They must be counting on the extractor holding the cartridge as it would not headspace properly on the case mouth. I don’t think I would do it, but it probably would work if the 10mm recoil spring was weak.

Those group well with max loads from my 8" Dan Wesson. I need to get a .44 barrel for my old Contender.

The 40 allows a 3 rd or 4th shot on mass

A 10 mm needs to be known for it’s recoil

I can just about duplicate those numbers with a 357 SIG. I have a NOVAC conversion Browning Hi-Power in 357 SIG that runs about 575 ftlbs with a 115 gr jhp. I can even surpass some of them with the 125 gr running around 1475 fps, it carries just over 600 ftlbs. No it’s not a load I would choose for bear size critters but it’s more than enough for anything I’ll run into here in west Texas. Several large feral hogs can attest to it’s power. The smaller 100 gr pills I can push just over 1600 fps and those things are flat shooting and tend to be quite messy on anything under 25 lbs.

That’s Cute. Can We add one of those to the F-15X Christmas List ? Can We Dad! Huh, Can We, Can We !?!?

Never shot a 10mm. I think more like if The SHTF I’ve got the .45 and Mama has Her 9mm. The entire World uses 9x19 so spare ammo will be easy pickings if needed and I hope .45 is fairly common. If not I’ll break out the Ruger P-89 and downsize a bit.

Have the Masses started arriving yet fir the Weekend?

I had a one shot stop using a Brenneke slug on a 4” diameter Christmas tree. (It was raining and I was too lazy to fire up the chainsaw).

Here and Texas they are in the parking lots with RV/Campers a week prior. In TX it’s a 1/2 Dry Property so the closest Liquor Store is SWAMPED for 1.5 weeks. They stock the store to the gills and have 2 40’ Box Trailers parked next to the building of Overstock waiting. Plus 24 hour armed guards for the trailers.

BTW- did You see the HIT Bubba took Sunday ? One of the Front Brake Rotors exploded just before entry to T1. He was a missile passenger.
