Actually, yes. If you're not near the coast, it's often just a bad storm that causes damage to mobile homes. Power might be out for a bit. Will be gone in 48 hours. None have had mandatory evacuations in the US before.
The ONLY Cat 2 to hit the US since the 20th century was 2014 Arthur... $16m in total damages across 4 states. Zero fatalities.
(Before that, you have to go back 23 yrs for a US-landfall Cat 2... 1995 Erin killed 6, and caused $700m in damages which "primarily came from downed trees, crop damages, and ship damages.")
(all 6 Erin deaths were drownings, off the coast. 3 on a dinner cruise, 1 surfer, and 2 swimmers... in a hurricane... all FL locals who were not new to hurricanes.)
