...SESSIONS:
...I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.
GRASSLEY:
OK. I think, that’s — let me emphasize then with a follow up question. To be very clear, you intend to recuse yourself from both the Clinton e-mail investigation and any matters involving the Clinton Foundation, if there are any?
SESSIONS:
Yes...
Back in October of 2017, he told Hugh Hewitt the following:
HH:"I look forward to hearing that decision. A couple of other issues I want to run through with you, Mr. Attorney General. I know youre recused from most of the Russia stuff. But are you recused from the investigation into the Steele dossier and GPS Fusion?"
JS:"Well, I have not made a formal announcement on what kind of recusal I might have there. But I could well be, and so "
The only thing he would say is that he was recused from the Clinton Foundation. But...gee...here we are...and nobody really knows exactly WHAT he is recused from. Multiple sources have reported that he was not recused from those things. So, Clinton Foundation yes...probably concerning Hillary...perhaps not Bill. Everything else no. That keeps his word to Congress.
Stay tuned
That statement from Sessions saying he’ll recuse himself from anything raised as an issue in the campaign is really astounding. Of course, it is a coward’s way of not facing a murderous criminal gang. But it also should have been a red flag to get the president to withdraw his name and/or his allies to vote him down. In a sense he did tell Trump what he would do re: Russian “collusion”, etc.—though at a very late hour in the nomination process.
