Whatever does not kill me makes me stronger. I am of the belief that germs strengthen your immune system. This is a first world list that I’ve considered and rejected. Besides, I like meatloaf from Cracker Barrel!

I’ve always made the point that having household servants isn’t a thing of the past. We just outsource them in their own restaurants, laundry facilities and car washes.

Essentially, it’s really no different.

Please, you have an immune system. Use it!!

Or lose it.

People who try to live aseptic lives are sick all the time.

Iceberg lettuce wedge - I can see that, but still love it.
Meat with the bone in - so, no ribs. Wow, that wipes out alot of restaurants
Meatloaf - yeah, because it’s lame compared to my mom’s
Ice cream - oh come on
Chicken - what? Again, there go your restaurants altogether
Pizza - ???what? Again....and it’s perfectly good
Bread baskets - well, I definitely won’t eat no baskets...

"Free buffets"

Who knows what comes out of people's mouths or noses when they're standing over the open trays, especially when they're carrying on conversations.

Nothing compared to our “BBQ” meatloaf. None of that comfort-food gravy stuff.

HAHA...YES...now use that on a lefty....tell them...How are your “slaves” doing? When they look at you funny, just say, you know, the lawncare you outsourced, the food prep you outsourced...childcare...what’s the difference?

You have a good point.

Most of the world eats from third world sh*thole country standards.

Food prep is done in nasty dirty fly infested kitchens. Served raw or undercooked. And they ain’t dead.

That’s why anything like that, including salad bars (virtually non-existent today) have “sneeze shields”.

My old great-aunt, born in the 19th century was suspicious of chocolate ice cream—my favorite when I was a kid. Never understood why until I learned that two flavors, chocolate and ginger, can cover flavors that have gone a bit off. I’m sure, when she was a girl, it was common practice for ice cream makers to add chocolate to the older stuff.

“What kind of imbecile would pay money to eat meatloaf!”

The same people who eat raw kale, and will pay $12 at a bar for a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon... Hipsters

Brread baskets — When I worked as a busboy in a restaurant in New Jersey we were instructed to put uneaten bread from the bread baskets back into the bread warmer. As for tap water it depended on how far down the ice machine was. If it got too close to the bottom we would have to make sure there weren’t any roaches frozen into the ice cubes.

"Free buffets"

That and "pot luck" meals.

The buffets for the large numbers of people doing whatever you can imagine (inadvertently or otherwise) while serving themselves, and pot lucks because you have no idea who prepared the food, where the ingredients came from, and the conditions under which it was prepared.

Pot lucks aren't something I participate in.

Well, that’s interesting. And it kinda makes the case for ordering bottled water.

Lemon pepper trout from Cracker Barrel allows me to drive low-carb across much of the country.

.....awful southern cooking, right up there with the ‘cooking’ done in the UK ...

Like most things, you have to know where to go. Good food and bad food both abound, sometimes side by side. An exception to good and bad food, in my experience, when I was there in 1986-1987, was Key West. Every restaurant I went into, with the exception of Wendy's, was great.....and Jimmy Buffett taught guitar and song writing classes, for free.

I was in UK 1991-1992. The local village restaurant owner admitted to getting his green beans and beets off the side of the road, where the local farm tractor would spill them. At the same time, six miles away was a michelin star restaurant built into a 15th century water mill, whose water wheel still worked.
