Years ago my son and family were in LA waiting to board a plane-——my Grandson,then about 7,had a Red Sox hat on and some teenager,a Yankee fan,actually started insulting him.

The family just relocated elsewhere because they also had a toddler with them and wanted to avoid a scene.

I could not believe it.

Oh, I could tell you stories about Yankees vs. Red Sox fans. I live in northern Connecticut near the MA line... the Yankees/Red Sox Mason/Dixon line runs just slightly south of here (Hartford area). It's like two die-hard religions clashing with each other all the time.

Biggest -- and I think oldest -- rivalry in American sports.

Don't even get me started on what it's like to wear Red Sox gear to a game at Yankee Stadium in da Bronx! It's the Belly of the Beast...
