At least 800 US troops will be sent to the US-Mexico border in response to the caravan of thousands of migrants headed for America, according to a new report Thursday.
Defense Secretary James Mattis is expected to sign an order as early as Thursday authorizing the move, a source told the Associated Press.
The extra troops will be deployed to provide logistical support, including vehicles, tents and equipment, to Border Patrol agents.
About 2,000 National Guard troops are already assisting at the border under a previous Pentagon agreement.
The news comes after President Trump vowed in a Thursday morning tweet that he’s “bringing out the military for this national emergency.”
“They will be stopped!” the president wrote.

Prayers that the Mexican govt cooperates and the Lefty media doesn’t distort the story for their ends.

Logistical support? Tents? This sounds more like they are going to help border patrol "handle" the invaders once they get into our country, rather than securing the border and stopping the invasion. I hope I am wrong.
I am curious what do we do if the hoard decides not to stop but keeps going?
I'm pretty certain we are going to find out. I believe they will not stop short of real force.

There isn’t time, resources or manpower to secure our border.
They’ll probably even select a port of entry, announce it, and overwhelm our personnel flooding in.
The worse this looks, the better it will be for Republicans, and it doesn’t look good now.
Terrible miscalculation on the part of the liberals behind this. Then again, if you take no responsibility for the disastrous ramifications of your plans, results aren’t really a factor.
If Trump has lied to us about securing the border in general (like even Reagan did), and stopping this specific invasion force, I will never trust him again. No number of national guard logistics troops are going to do it. Remember when the NG was sent into the LA Riots? ... Without ammo? ... They were a laughing stock and the looting went on right under their noses.
He promised to jail Hillary and secure the border, neither has happened, and we risk now losing the house.
800? It wouldn’t surprise me if Mattis wore girl clothes and make-up on the weekends.
That means they now have intelligence on where along the border the caravan plans to cross.
That does not make any sense. The San Diego sector is the one part of the border that is halfway decently secured. If they actually want to get in they would head almost anyplace else.

My guess: The caravan will head for a bridge. Then there will be chaos, and maybe a stampede. There will be some arrests, and many injuries if there’s a stampede. But most of them will get through, and spread out.
With as many people as this, it will be like trying to herd cats.
Too bad not into Mexico ala Pershing.
A few thousand “fully armed” US Marines would seem appropriate.
