My shop decided to “upgrade” everything from Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus. Mind you, they’re hard into the migration process to Win-10 but due to so many software incompatibility issues that ain’t going so well.

So they scripted a deployment of Pro Plus - and managed to break 30% of existing installs in the process. Workers are left with email clients that won’t connect, missing programs, or the entire Office suite gone.

It’s been a laff riot.

The company I am at fell for Microsoft Office 365 siren song.
Smooth transition, no one will notice a thing as you upgrade the Microsoft sales guy probably said.

We have had thousand and one calls for a simple mistake on someones part that used the wrong domain name and used a username instead of the email address required. Example @microsoft.com was instead another name like @apple.com
Also not everyone has been upgraded at once due to the number of users so if John Smith who has been upgraded wants to email someone who is on the old server they will not see that person’s email address in the address book. They have to manually type out the address. Also a delay from Microsoft getting licenses.

Also Onedrive deletes the users files. Leaves just the filename and icon and the size is 0kb. Issue going back years so will never be fixed. Imagine your critical files being deleted. Search on: onedrive files show 0kb

Example here:
Onedrive corrupting my files to 0kb
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onedrive-corrupting-my-files-to-0kb-redux/4f0677d7-dfdd-4abe-a590-4143c1d590b5

Of course there is the issue of the Windows 10 update that also has been deleting user files.

My main pc at home uses Windows 7 and I am not updating anytime soon to 10.
