I didn’t like the unelected Hillary or Michelle having power, and even though I think Melania is 100% right, I don’t like the “office. Of the First Lady” being formalized.
These disputes should remain internal.
I dont care what job you have... pissing off the bosses wife is never a good idea for your career.
Exactly, If Melania wants to have a say in setting policy she should run for office. Else the FLOTUS's job is to support the president in achieving the goals he was elected to fulfill and MAGA
These disputes should remain internal.
More importantly , this could have been handled quietly without lending credence to "The Trump white house is a snakepit" narrative that media likes to peddle. Just really poor judgement all around.
Whoever is giving the President and FLOTUS such bad political advice is not their friend.
Decide whether something should be aired or covered up based on political considerations.
Weaponize opinions, weaponize right and wrong.
I agree with this. The FLOTUS gets to express her opinion about the President's staff in a hundred different ways. Doing so publically is inappropriate, IMO.
It's messy and has the potential to make the President look weak ... and the publicity could drive a wedge between the President and other staffers, particularly the ones who defended Melania's nemesis.
Going public is especially ill-timed now with all we've got going on with stealing elections, Dem takeover of the House, promised investigations.
I think this makes Melania look petty and mean. I'm disappointed in her.
Who do you think took it external?
Agree.
No call to expose the First Lady to criticism.
When an administration bureaucrat oversteps his/her position and authority it should not become the responsibility of the First Lady to resolve it.
If she cold not get satisfaction internally (as stated) the president could/should have resolved the issue before it went public.
On the other hand, the First Lady does not have to accept being dis-respected and treated like an underling.
