What happened to W after his Presidency? I have a perspective on this but I think he was consistent before and after.
In my view we have a two party system but some people on the other side are (purposefully?) wearing the wrong jersey.
We have the Conservatives, all of whom wear the GOP jersey; and
We have the democrat party that has the following wings:
-The radical wing. A wing that is radical today but whose members become mainstream tomorrow as a newer more radical wing is ever emerging thanks to our institutions of Higher Indoctrination.
-The moderate wing. See above, they were formally the radical wing.
-The conservative wing. Democrats wearing Republican jerseys who think that what they democrats believe isn’t so bad but that they would make the change to a statist, socialist state gradual and that they can manage it better. They also just want to fit in with the elites. The thing about this wing is that as long as they are wearing the wrong jersey, the aforementioned wings of the democrat party will attack them the same as they would a Conservative. Some of their members are:
The Bushes, Rove, Kasich, Romney, Ryan, Kristol, Flake, Collins, Corker, Stierwalt, Murkowski, Perino, the McCain’s, etc.

I would add that computers that can find trends in huge amounts of data that is being collected, along with electronic mass communications through which flows mostly entertainment and propaganda has given rise to a super-organization (deep state, also deep world) that our leaders more than ever want to fit into. Geez that’s a long sentence.
Who has access to the data machines and big microphones? Those are the powerful ones.
Independent thinking is more easily crushed now without having to kill people. This works well in America.
I agree that we have a bunch of “Democrats wearing Republican jerseys”. I pray that we deplorables can spot more bright stars like Trump.
