she repeated the union’s call for Illinois to tax its wealthiest residents at higher rates

Morons, absolutely morns and they teach our children! Tax the rich has been the cry of liberal for 50 years now. Every time it is done it falls flat on its face. People simply find ways through our ridiculous tax code to avoid paying the higher amounts. Few people actually want to pay higher taxes so they don’t! The Government then has to borrow and the debt goes up! If people do not have the ability tp learn themselves how can they be teachers!

With their pension benefits, when they retire they will be richer than most private workers.

Her definition of rich: anyone drawing a private sector paycheck.

Correct. She doesn’t realize that you have to pass that tax increase through the people who might have to pay the tax increase. It has to be written so it doesn’t affect them.

The real money is in taxing the poor. There is a LARGE number of them.

Yes, Cadillac plans. Little copay and little to no deductible, and covered until Medicare.

How about they throw out the kids who have no plans on learning anything anyway so they can teach the rest? Put these feral children in work camps so they can learn a trade.

You can tax the poor, but you won’t get enough money. Actually, they could confiscatorily tax everybody in Chicago, and they’d still not have enough money.

Chicago is screwed.

Illegals are a huge expense, but what’s driving the debt is insanely generous pensions and health bennies.

Morons, absolutely morns and they teach our children!

Why?

It is long past time to abolish government schools.

Class sizes aren’t a no brainier. It’s more feel good bs. It’s been repeatedly demonstrated that class size has no real effect on learning. All it’ll do is increase costs. But people fall for it because it “makes sense”. Don’t fall for it. You know what else “makes sense”? Mountain tops are warmer because they’re closer to the sun. That’s on par with leftist reasoning.

Poor people pay a lot of sales taxes. They’ll grumble but they will pay them.

Looks like the least attractive lady I dated, years ago. She had manic-depressive issues. Threw things at me for no reason, then profusely apologized and cried. The cycle happened, without cause, every three to four days.

“Between raising taxes, rising crime and the SALT elimination, it’s going to get ugly in the next 5-10 years there.”

These teachers need to take a haircut. First off, no pay for any time accumulated over the course of a teachers career. Second, recalculate retirement benefits for retirement pay and contributions. It can be scaled based on years of service. So year 1-3 there is no government funding. A teacher will have to self fund. Then scale it. Years 4-10 3 percent, 11-15 6 percent and so on.

“After completing our demographic and economic analysis, we find that 85% of public-school teachers are considered rich. We will therefore be increasing their taxes.”
