Enrollment has been declining for years....

Now that you mention it, there was a recent article on Chicago's declining enrollment, so guess what?

TPTB changed the funding formula so that Chicago School Budget wouldn't be affected.

At least for the next round.

IIRC, one of the school board members was billionairess Penny Pritzker. She had no problems increasing the budget, shafting the people of Chicago.

Trump needs to radically reform the public school system in his 2nd term. Make private school tuition tax deductible on the Federal level would be a good start as the voucher and Charter school reforms are taking too long.

Have seen what’s happened with Philly’s soda tax? Poor people pay some. But not enough, not nearly enough.

At KFI, the 'John and Ken Show' did a great show on this topic yesterday. When lotteries are implemented and taxes are increased to support 'education' it goes to teacher salaries and benefits..

Then teachers go on strike saying how poor the classrooms are, never got investments, etc ...

With her, the code is “rich people” = “white people”

And therein lies the problem. Last night on the news they were covering the L.A. teachers’ strike. Over 80% of L.A. schools are hispanic/black. Whites who can afford it send their kids to parochial/private schools. So, they don’t vote to increase school taxes. I know the same is true of St. Louis schools and I’ll be the same is true of Chicago’s.

Raising taxes on the “rich” will only drive more out of the district.

I have stated for years that the California State Lottery needs to be audited.

Solzheniztyn was right. Collectivism is an economic model that does not take into account human psychology.

Soon as they start gouging the rich, the rich will leave.
