***Wait, what'd I do?***

You are right, of course; just releasing a bit of frustration I suppose. I had hoped to pull the attention of Bigg Red to the Tolkien Dictionary - you and others on this thread usually refer such to me or the Dictionary; I was a bit put off by BR saying she found what she wanted in a regular dictionary.

Temperamental author I reckon. 😏

Ya, I shoulda referred her to the master. I just thought Entmoot was common knowledge. I do that sometimes, think everybody knows what I know, since I know so little.

What?! Listen, my FRiend, Tolkein was a wonderful writer, and he did, indeed, introduce a number of interesting words, but there are words he did not invent.

I had seen the word “moot” used only as an adjective and not as a noun. So I did a search and found it on freedictionary.com.

(Historical Terms) (in Anglo-Saxon England) an assembly, mainly in a shire or hundred, dealing with local legal and administrative affairs

.....
Not sure what role bagster played in all of this. Pretty sure I spotted the word “moot” in a post by Snowybear.

Love, love learning new words.
