A man among a group of migrants detained in a desolate part of New Mexico near the border with Mexico has been diagnosed as infected with flesh-eating bacteria, the U.S. Border Patrol said Friday.
The man was taken to a hospital in recent days after telling a federal agent that he had a growing rash on his leg, U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Carlos Antunez said.
A statement from border patrol officials said the unidentified migrant will require extensive medical treatment. Antunez said he could not provide more details or the man’s condition.
Sometimes surgery is needed to remove the infected area. It’s rare for the infection to spread to other people. The man was detained near the small city of Lordsburg. His home country was not disclosed.
Another 300 migrants, mostly Central Americans, were detained Thursday south of Lordsburg near an official U.S.-Mexico border crossing, Antunez said. Some had illnesses and injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Spent a week one night brokedown in Lordsburg. Our RV overheated on the freeway so we limped into town and ‘camped’ for the night on the main drag. The train tracks run alongside the main drag and there was one freight train after another pulling through all night long. We mentioned that to the mechanic the next day and he says you get used to it. They have 198 trains passing through Lordsburg every day.

I remember a time when we, as a country, celebrated the elimination of certain diseases. It reduced the mortality rate and extended life spans.
Then obama started this crap of inviting and welcoming all these people from Central America who were/are carrying in all of those same diseases.

My grandfather's little sister was refused entry at Ellis Island because she had an eye infection. His parents had to board the ship to bring her back to Trieste. Grandfather was 18 and stayed.
These large groups are coming in down here in the bootheel...same area near Antelope Wells. We have a barbwire cattle fence on the border here with vehicle barrier on both sides of the Port of Entry. The only real border fence there is around the Port of Entry. The large groups cross illegally then when apprehended by Border Patrol they say the magic word asylum so they can stay. These groups are treated very much like the Cubans used to be...feet on our soil along with the magic word and they are likely here forever. Those that do not qualify will be long gone when that is determined. Every group arrives with people who need medical attention, where they are arriving there are no medical services. Ties up a lot of our Border Patrol processing them and transporting them for medical and out to holding facilities. While Border Patrol is tied up with them the drugs come in, and illegals who have no intention of claiming asylum.

Exactly! I have people ask me all the time who is paying for their medical? Who is going to pay for the kids they bring to be educated? And more... Well the answer is you are, I am, anyone who lives here is going to pay and keep paying. Not only for services for them to live but any that wind up in the criminal justice system...oh yes we will pay for that too in more ways than one.
