I believe his motivation was being sickened by the carnage he saw directed at Afghani Civlians in a JAG video he accessed, the helicopter hunting vid of Iraqis, and the internal docs which revealed the exploitation of the “Third World” by the “First World”.

Believe that if you want his fellow soldiers said otherwise!
Even if so, his opinion doesn’t matter!
He joined the Army, he signed the security docs knowing the consequences.
He can complain about tactics after his enlistment is up !
