I remember a quote from Deng Xiaoping of China when he first met Jimmy Carter in 1979

Stupid Carter was used to pressuring the Soviets about freedom of immigration under the US Jackson-Vanik amendment, usually regarding immigration of Jews from the Soviet Union

He raised this with Deng, who replied: “OK, how many millions do you want?”

No doubt, the Chinese would gladly send the Uighur to Sweden. They have no use for unassimilated ethnic groups, and the Turkic peoples have been a thorn in China’s side off and on for 2000 years.
