So, it would be a crime for me to mention that I ran Boston in under three hours? Achieved a goal through hard work and dedication? Kill me now!
I’m impressed. I don’t think that I could ever have run a marathon.
Me, I quit running the day I left military service. I get my exercise from walking, and I enjoy it. Nothing like doing a ten mile stroll (3 hours) while listening to my favorite songs or the audio book of Atlas Shrugged.
I've done some wild and crazy things in my life, such as getting my airborne wings at Fort Benning, enjoying a day of hiking and rappelling in Water Canyon, UT (at 59), and keeping up with Germans during friendly drinking games when I was much younger.
One thing I did as a dumbazz 2LT that, in retrospect, was totally stupid: sneaking up on a sleepy guard at 3 AM while on staff duty officer. The smart thing to do was let him know I was in the area.
