I Still Miss Someone - Linda Ronstadt (1971)

Indeed, and we also have the right to call her out for her politics.
You should read her book. She says she wrote “every word” herself and it’s a good read.
Remember during the Bush years when she said it made her sick to think there might be Christian conservatives in her audience?
Theyre all airheads, but in their prime Alyssa and Linda had something to offer that Rosie never came close to.
Her albums, “What’s New”, and “For Sentimental Reasons”, are two of my favorites. Nelson Riddle arrangements, and her voice is amazing on them.
The real version of Dolly’s great song was by Linda, not by the crackhead. Enjoy the photos. She only exists in these and the audio. The rest of her died.

Linda did a Vegas gig where, halfway through, she started in with leftist nonsense. The audience began walking out, there was some kind of altercation, and Ronstadt was told to never come back.
Koko Joe--Don & Dewey (1958)
I try so separate artists from their political leanings in order to enjoy their work. Ronstadt went over the side with the Mariachi crap, bloating into a whale, and covering everything in leftist gravy.
So sad, but screw you, woman.
Cash could pull it off...A boy named Sue, Folsom prison etc...but I don’t know about her.
Boy named Sue, and Folsom would have sided with the inmates.
You’re no good told them, well, they’re no good.
The reaction? The prisoners loved it.
My favorite Ronstadt song is probably Love is a Rose.
Nana Mouskouri did a cover of it that only emphasized
how great Linda’s version was.
I saw her in Laramie, Wyoming in the early 80s and will never forget her singing the Eagles Desperado.
Which was almost a direct copy of Betty Everett's original version.
But I do like this version by Linda.
She had good pipes, even if I could live without her politics.
Thanks for the tip.
A Boy Named Hugh--Gene Price (1976)
"If you want to head this great land, then choose a name that will make you take a stand. And if I ever have a son, I ain't going to name him Ronald or Jerry or Jimmy or Richard or Hubert. I think I'll name him Sue."
