Give us the story and we will gladly give advice. It may or may not be right but we’ll give it anyway.

They can become Prime Minister then? US naturalized citizens have the same rights as natural born, except to become President or Vice-President of the US.

If I became naturalized, my first exercise of celebration would be to head on down to the local gun store.

Hmmm. Not sure how to answer that. An NBC over 35 years of age has the right to run for president and hold that office, if they pass the voters’ muster and are selected by the electoral college.

No one has the right to hold the office (Hillary’s screeching not withstanding!)

Like driving, it is a privilege. Like driving, not everyone can legally have that privilege. Non-NBC citizens need not apply.

Even if by gross fraud one held the office, that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate, any more than a homeless person setting up shop in your house while you are on vacation gives him a right to your bed.

Becoming President or Vice President is not considered a right. They are qualified positions, of which naturalized citizens do not qualify. Their children born after they become naturalized citizens do become qualified for those positions though. 8>)

From what I’ve read, at the time of his birth in Canada, his father was Cuban and, for whatever reason, the mother never went to US embassy to complete the required documents for his US citizenship.

Perhaps she renounced her US citizenship when she became a Canadian citizen prior to Ted’s birth?

I don’t know the reason - only he is not a documented US citizen.

That Cruz holds himself out to be a Constitutionalist is laughable.

BTW, we do not have a position know as Prime Minister. Is he talking about a U.S. citizen becoming a naturalized Canadian citizen? I agree that could be the case and why he is asking advice of Canadians. 8>)

I was of course speaking about what I know the case to be in this country. From what I understand Canada does ot require their Prime Minster be a natural born citizen.

So if the opposite from what I thought is the case, he is a naturalized Canadian citizen, he can become their Prime Minister. 8>)

Then you would encounter so many choices, you might bankrupt yourself and then enjoy our bankruptcy laws. 8>)

I get your point, but I’m not sure if that’s where he/she was going. Either way, it’s not important. Enjoy the day off and consume animal flesh. 🙂

Canuck? does that mean Canadian?
The Canucks that sneak across our northern border without permission are called Frostbacks.

It's a derogatory term Canadians don't like at all. My Canadian born daughter-in-law told me that.

Not true at all. My favourite hockey team next to the Colorado Avalanche is the Vancouver Canucks! I grew up in Vancouver and have never thought “Canuck” was derogatory.

So, we should be offended by Vancouver’s hockey team’s name now? Maybe we could rename them the Vancouver SJW’s, eh? I was born in snowy Saskatchewan but I’m certainly not a snowflake about the WORD Canuck!

Being an 81 yr old of French Canadian descent on my mother’s side, I can well remember when the term Canuck was very much the same as the “N” word. However, it has now become an acceptable, although not preferred, term for this particular group. I certainly take no offense. Snowflakes will take offense at anything and everything while crouching in their basement hallows.
