My Albertan born daughter-in-law isn’t fond of it. Quite honestly though, I love my daughter-in-law but I’m not too fond of Canadians at all.

They can become Prime Minister then?

Just to be clear, are you asking whether a naturalized Canadian citizen is eligible to become Prime Minister?

The answer is yes. We don't have a constitutional requirement that the PM be born a Canadian citizen. (That said, there hasn't been a foreign-born Prime Minister since Mackenzie Bowell in the 1890s.)

On the other hand, two recent Governors-General are naturalized Canadian citizens: Adrienne Clarkson and Michaëlle Jean, who came as refugees from Hong Kong and Haiti, respectively, when they were children.

Yet you sound like the one who is offended, not I...note I didn’t say I was offended...I said I am Canadian not a Canuck. A proud Canadian, as I am a proud American, as I am both.

But you keep being a Canuck, it suits you!

Little touchy, are we?
For someone who knows nothing at all about me or my history, or my family roots in Minnesota, you sure like to jump to uninformed conclusions, don’t you? Tell you what, you enjoy that smug moral superiority that defines your Canadian side, and I’ll wander over to the adults in the room and have a nice North American conversation.

‘Til then, look up ‘Canuck’ in your easily-accessible Wikipedia, and get back to me after that,

Yes, that is correct. The difference is how they go about getting their ID’s done in a case of loss.

Finally got it, but in took 2 years to get my Citizenship Certificate.
I was wondering if it is somehow possible to correct the process of applying.
It really bizarre - There is a PO Box #, pay a fee, fill up this crappy application full of British subject question and you wait, and wait, and wait.
After about 1/2 year you get a letter that u made a mistake, and it starts all over again.

If they want the can do it for years and there is nothing you can do.
No email address, no phone number, no office to help you out.

Absolutely maddening situation...

Nice,

just;

can’t go to a doctor - no health card
can’t drive a vehicle - no license
can’t fly - no ID

Pay Taxes - yes

So basically a hostage...
