Bloomberg and the mysterious death of Tanya Nooner (2007)
Creative Loafing ^ | 7/25/2007 | John Sugg

"The third victim was Alford's daughter, 28-year-old private investigator Tanya Nooner. Her slaying was almost certainly a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Yet Nooner's death by gun violence was a sad irony, considering her most famous customer and the nature of the case upon which she was working: an anti-gun crusade launched by New York Mayor – and possible independent presidential candidate – Michael Bloomberg. The city's legal machine had hired Nooner to snare Georgia gun sellers whose firearms ended up in the hands of murderers, thugs and thieves in New York."

I never felt this was sufficiently explained or adequately investigated. Such an odd "coincidence." She had been working pure entrapment operations against gun stores with cops Bloomberg sent from NYC.

I’m just surprised ‘Creative Loafing’ still exists.

So Bloomberg conspired to pay people go out of state, make false purchases of weapons and transport illegal weapons across state lines? Looks like the only crimes here are Federal and against Bloomberg!

Around this same time - 2006 or so - I had a table at the Chantilly Gun Show, selling a few of my own weapons. A man approached me to buy a pistol I was selling and he was well-dressed, smooth and friendly but I could see that he really didn't know much about weapons.

He picked out a Browning I had and I asked to see his Virginia ID.

He confided to me that he was from out of state but "it's safe to sell to me". I told him firmly that I wouldn't sell it to him.

Then he said that he "has a friend there from Virginia who can buy it for me" and I told him that I would not violate the law, so forget it.

He persisted, still being very friendly and smooth but I told him that I would call show security if he didn't get lost.

Once he was sure that I wouldn't sell, he smiled and I saw two other people watching us and I'm fairly sure they were videoing the discussions. They left me at that point.

I have no doubt that this was a set of Bloomberg operatives in action: the guy had New York ID.

She was the star witness and the only local witness in Bloomberg’s phony case. Before the trial, she died of a gunshot wound in what appeared to be a lover’s quarrel between two other people who also died. As another poster postulated, the Bloomberg team themselves actually committed crimes in the process of framing gun dealers.

I saw a guy who was pretty clearly a plain clothes cop demanding to buy a gun and walk out with it in a waiting period state. Gun seller wouldn’t let him, and he left. I thought about reporting the “gun buyer” to the cops, but figured I’d get in trouble for interfering with police business and let it go.

In this environment, we all have to very careful. Like I told that guy at the gun show “ I’m too young and too good-looking for jail”.

A younger relative and I were at a gun show and he started talking about guns with a seller. The seller looked at me after awhile and saw I was very proud of the young man. He also surmised we were not buying.
After about 15 minutes, a middle-aged man approached the seller and asked some questions. We were about to leave when the seller looked to us and said he wanted to continue our talk. Seemed weird but we said OK.
Then he asked a neighbor seller to go get something.
Two minutes later, two undercover detectives arrived and told the man to go with them.
Very interesting.
We asked the seller about it and he said, “Don’t say anything.” We didn’t.
