Ford thought the German Getrag folks had a great idea but it turned out bad. I passed on a VW with automatic after learning that the 30K service included $500 for transmission service. The Focus 5 speed manual is a much better car but, unfortunately, Ford chose to build only a few of them. My Fords have obviously had a better record than most who have posted and the only problem I have had with my three Fords is a failed horn relay.

Having it serviced at the dealer put ordinary transmission service at almost the cost of the fuel.
Dot a bad job to change the fluid, but at the time Rostech ($200) was the least expensive option for resetting the OBD.
