One of my husband’s military friends (USAMRIID) says the Chinese are not sharing data on this outbreak like they have with past outbreaks.

While they have quarantined the area and the affected people it should be noted that they have done the same thing in the past when they are actually ‘quarantining’ Muslims, Falun Gong, Christians, Catholics, and other protesters.

There’s also a chance that this isn’t pneumonia but instead a further spread of the November 2019 pneumonic plague outbreak:
