I was amazed at the aftermath - a mangled hunk of steel + hand with a ring ... but nothing else really touched - talk about precision and apparently some kind of dual explosion including a vapor explosion that left Uncle Sol’s glasses melted to his former face. The description of the aircraft involved also suggests that, indeed, there was special ops on the ground providing laser guidance to the target. And of course, with Conan at the helm lol ... WWG1WGA ;)

No, sorry. Harpoons are very small weapons, at least by our standards. A Tomahawk is much more substantial.

The Harpoon is a mission-kill vice platform-kill weapon. You may not be able to continue your mission after getting hit but you won't be swimming.

FWIW - I was qualified to operate both the Harpoon Attack Console (an enlisted job) AND direct the mode and method of attack (usually the Tactical Action Officer or the CO).

I certainly hope they have streamlined the process in the last 35 years.
