My wife and I married in our 20s, and had our first child 10 months later. We had just bought a small apartment, got some very simple furnishings, and with new child, our expenses were high. She had left her job to watch our child. At one brief point, our bank account was overdrawn, and we couldn’t go to the grocery store, while I waited for my paycheck. I remember when that happened, she took a deep breath, and smiled.

things have improved considerably since then. So our pre-nup is: She’s entitled to everything we have, and more.

"She’s entitled to everything we have, and more."

With the current divorce laws, she will, as you'll be paying alimony (and child support if < 18 still) for a very, very long time if she ever left plus split half the assets and pay massive divorce lawyer bill for BOTH of you.
