.Lo got political during her Super Bowl half time show which featured Latino children in cages who then broke into a rendition of 'Born in the USA' in what appeared to be a swipe at Donald Trump's immigration policies. Both Shakira and J.Lo put their Latina heritage front and center of the show, with the former - who was born in Colombia - taking to the stage shouting 'hola Miami!' before bringing out rapper Bad Bunny who sung in Spanish. But it was J.Lo who made the bigger statement during the latter part of her performance, when the lights rose on children including her own 11-year-old daughter Emme sat in cages - which appeared to reference Trump's hardline immigration policy that has seen children detained after attempting to cross the southern border illegally. Emme began by singing part of her song Let's Get Loud before J.Lo appeared in a giant American flag coat, which had the Puerto Rican flag on the other side.

I’m glad they explained it to me. I watched the show, yes it was a little vulgar, but probably not far off their stage shows, but I didn’t get the kids in cages reference. Went right over my head. The ‘cages’ looked like giant Christmas ornaments or Cindarella coaches without wheels. I guess I’m not woke enough.
As for the game it was pretty good. And the openly professed Christian QB and his good guy coach won.

As “teeman8r” said just above, it’s very easy to see what you’re looking for. I didn’t notice anything regarding children in cages. I was thinking about how inappropriate it was to have children in the middle of the “flashdance” filth.
I actually watched some sportsball, too, sort of accidentally because my teenagers were watching and the room was warm, instead of freezing like the rest of the house. That one young man was passing the ball a great deal.

Unfortunately I did see the halftime show. I did get the reference to Born in the USA, it wasn’t clear to me on what those lighted things were (the cages). I told my husband that I was getting tired of the halftime shows, especially when half the lyrics are in Spanish. And yes, both JLo and Shakira looked like streetwalkers and JLo added to the degradation by having nearly no costume covering her nether regions.
One of the worst half times in my life. I wonder how many parents was disgusted to see this type of show occurring with little kids watching it. As the saying goes Sex sales.
SO!!! I made the right decision to avoid the Super Toilet Bowl.

I didn’t see it. The halftime show is always a ridiculous display of terrible lip syncing by performers who peaked 20 years ago. As for the game, I used to love football when I was a child, but then I grew up and lost interest.
What is the super bowl?
If that was “Latin Culture” then decent Americans are very right about needing that wall.
I wasn’t watching. I was in another room, reading news on FR. What I heard sounded like African drums beating while Clinton was smoking his infamous cigar. It was certainly not worth watching, J Lo bootie, or not.
The enclosures you can walk through shown in the pictures are certainly not “cages”. Whoever thinks that it is, has certainly never known what incarceration really means. Forcing a 11 year old child to watch you expose your crotch, butt, and boobs on a stage is child abuse, but forcing her to sing while surrounded in shiny hoops is not “caging” her.
Who approves these half time porno shows? Is Roger Goodell a party to this because if so, he needs to go....

This is why I refuse to watch these things anymore, and it looks like I decided correctly yesterday. I didn’t watch any of it, but it appears the halftime show has shown the world once again that the Entertainment Industry as a whole, HATES AMERICA and everything it once stood for.
