We don’t have to have a single coronavirus death in this country. Not a single one.

The supply chain issue is baked into the cake.

Right this minute in fact.

But it’s never, ever, a bad thing to have 6-8 weeks of food and household items on hand. Never a bad thing. If you’re sick, you don’t have go to anywhere. If you’re fired, you’ve got food for a cpl months. If there’s a family ‘circumstance’, you don’t have to worry about shopping. If you live in ‘cane country, gotcha covered right there.

It isn’t ‘panic mongering’ or ‘doom and glooming’ to be prepared. For whatever. Even if whatever never comes.

Do you buy insurance? Are you a doomer too then?

Getting spare windshield wipers (because the ones for OUR car are all made in china...china isn’t making anything right now), belts and filters is a prudent thing to do. It would be wise to have those on hand in general. Regardless of any errant microbe threatening the supply chain.

It’s like you suffer from normalcy bias and intend to spread that around too? And prevent anyone else from thinking...’hey, it might be good to have 2 of those instead of just 1, I’ll use the other one anyways eventually...’.

I have NO IDEA if we will have mass epidemic deaths from this. I certainly hope NOT. I personally have BETTER things to do this spring and summer than be under quarantine or wondering if I can fill up my car. BUT, just in case we DO have an epidemic, I DO have a 6w supply of food and what not at my house. It’s not like we don’t eat food. And won’t eat food 6 weeks from now...

There is nothing wrong with being prepared for anything. No one is saying otherwise. However, the “WE ARE ALLZ GOINZ TO DIEZ” stuff is over the top and wrong.
