How long before we trust surfaces in aircraft, or the cleanliness of a motel room again?

I forsee a future in ultraviolet robotics, but a lag in turnaround time for re-loading.

I interpreted it to mean that any virus that results in pneumonia for seniors is a problem. This specific virus is no different. Pneumonia is a concern. So, just as with the flu complications can result , I think this is what level headed health professionals have been trying to say for some time now.

Which raises a question......

What about the pneumonia vaccines? I know they won't prevent the virus, but would they have any affect on the possibility of developing pneumonia?

I have had both pneumonia vaccines but I also realize that it's no guarantee of anything.

I'm also guessing that the pneumonia that comes with this is viral pneumonia, not bacterial and I think the vaccines protect from the bacterial strains.

Are there any particular wavelengths of UV that are particularly effective, or which are not effective at all against the virus?

I checked into a motel last Sunday night. Before I brought any of my stuff in I wiped down all of the surfaces, light switches, handles, etc. with Chlorox wipes. It put me more at ease when I set my stuff down on the surfaces.

just to bounce off your post since you mentioned smokers (i.e, ACE-2s) - is this limited only to cigarette tobacco or could that relate to combustible materials per se? Or even those with high exposure to combustible materials such as first responders? Firemen/emt/leo ?

Absolutely- our ICU’s are full at present, but we have contingency plans in case we get hit. We do have one of the only adult ECMO units anywhere. And negative pressure and HBO.

It’s our new endemic pathogen.

The likelihood of containment at this point is very nearly nil.

Soon everyone will know just how bad, or not so bad, it is.

So start drinking again.

I bought some of these UV lights a month ago. They are no longer in stock. I forget the wavelengths. Some have just the UV light, and most in the market have combined UV and ozone.

Note - the light is very damaging to eyes, skin and other living organisms (plants, animals, etc.) I see that people are developing lights in another frequency that are not harmful to humans, but will still destroy the virus. But iirc those products are another 1 to 2 years out.

Ozone is also very bad for humans, pets and plants. But as a gas it can “reach” into all the corners of the room, fabrics, etc.

Both types are useful to have.
