Yep, gene sequencing in WA state shows community spread for at least six weeks there.
Common sense tells you there are more cases in metro NYC than in metro Seattle (for example), but there has just been more testing and analysis in metro Seattle.
If that’s the case there should have been symptomatic cases all over the place after 14-21 days...
Then again, is that a possible indication that there was an actually inoculative strain created and released?
That would also be a reason to “lag” on getting test kits out. Verification via the kits would alter peoples behavior before the inoculative strain had time to propagate, allowing for more of the actual bug to circulate... Food for thought...
