The scriptures say that disease, suffering and death entered the world because of sin. People usually list suffering and the existence of evil as the biggest argument against the God who is Love that Christians claim exists. This argument demonstrates a failure to grasp the wickedness of all human beings with their free will, the goodness of God that restrains their wickedness, that if God didn't allow evil, then he couldn't allow the existence of humans(who when asked will almost claim to be basically good, despite all evidence to the contrary)and a complete lack of belief and understanding of eternity, and how God sees suffering in light of the blip that is your life compared to how long is eternity.
