Dental office just called to say they are back in business
me, middle GA area

Posted on 05/04/2020 6:38:17 AM PDT by Conserv

They shut down the day before I was scheduled for a cleaning.

Made appointment for 8am Friday, but they wanted me to come in today. Couldn't make that.

Said something about sending me a text with a few questions that will need to be answered....

and another text on appointment day.

My appointment was canceled in March in NE Atlanta Metro area. They called me last Wednesday and said they could see me again. So I went in Saturday for my cleaning and x-rays. You would have thought I had Ebola, with all the crap they wore. But it was good to get back in.

They've hired some new personnel.

I’m guessing you will not be able to wear a mask while in the chair.

My dental office says when you show up for your appointment that you are to call the desk then sit in your car until they call you to come inside for services.

My dentist and his staff have always worn masks and gloves—so they should be ready to go...

Damn. If they do that, at least my appointment’s at 8.

It was 88 degrees yesterday, and I would not sit in my car with the air running the entire time. I would have to go sit under a tree or something.

Luckily, I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes.

At the moment I wish my family lived in GA instead of CA. My elderly mom lives with us and she badly needs to be fitted for new hearing aids. Everyone is closed - hearing aids are apparently “non-essential”.

Some of my doctors are back open for business.

I had two scheduled, critical eye appointments for the end of March that were canceled, as the sh!thead governor had all but locked the hospitals (our local hospital has laid off 1,000 folks), but they finally were able to receive me a month later. Fortunately, there were no ill effects to the unfortunate delay.

My regular monthly labs were done in-home at the beginning of April, but I just went for labs today back at my doctor’s office. However, the follow-up appointment with the doctor will be via Skye.

I have a specialist appointment for Wednesday that I need to check on, to see if it’s still on. Another specialist canceled this Friday’s appointment, and rescheduled for the middle of June. Second postponement.

Our dentist isn’t taking appointments until June.

I have an appointment Thursday afternoon.
It has twice been postponed by them - but I bet this one is kept.

Our dental offices are re-opening this week since being closed back in mid-march. The additional procedures are what have been suggested by TDA (Texas) and ADA. Dental offices were already probably the cleanest places you can get to receive treatment, but that will just go up a notch a bit for a little while.

We do not make patients wait in their car but there will be limited time spent at reception. On arrival they will be taken straight to a private room. Our offices are able to confine families to separate rooms (for now) so we can keep somewhat distant.

I think the theatre will last a month. Patients (for emergencies last month) are already dropping masks. I'm looking forward to getting a full schedule going again. There is certainly some backlog.

And another thing, patients have been paying dental insurance for the past 2 months but insurance requirements like radiographs are only allowed every 6 months. Insurance Companies are going to be sitting on a pile of cash. Yay.

Taking the wife in tomorrow and was told I have to sit out in the car.
