Each time a new person is infected, the reset button is pressed.

If NYC has to shut down everyone should.

Of course if the plague struck flyover country and not NYC the reverse wouldn’t be true.

Don't know about 14 days...but it has definitely been more than the fifteen days which Americans agreed to.

People are still getting positives. As soon as we have a day with no positives then the 14 days begin. However that is hard to get and then need 14 days of no positives. Tough to do that especially.

Wasn’t really the point.

CA, OR, WA etc needed to do extra damage and shake down the Federal Taxpayer...

there are about a million unaccounted for cases; you gotta wonder how many hoops you have to jump through to be declared “recovered”.

“dead” is pretty easy.

If the lock down had been fully effective and the incubation period is 14 days or less, then you should have seen a huge drop off after 14 days.

We didn’t see that.
We did see a flattening but not much of a drop off.

The Georgia graph does show a really good drop off.
It peaked on May 22 and has had a dramatic fall off since.

The nation as a whole not so much.

That’s why the lock down’s got extended.
And that’s why the phased reopening approach suggest a 14 day drop before proceeding to the next phase.

If everyone stayed inside like India did, yeah, but that’s not what happened. People were still going shopping, to the doctor, to work (if deemed essential), etc.

Because yesterday is always Day 1.

Kind of like Wimpy: “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

The problem is that their are carriers that are virus timebombs. I dont know why its 14 days, but I think its related to how long it took to get confirmation 5-7 days and then isolation. Its much quicker now. My question is if you have it and take hydroxychloquine and zinc, why isn’t it reduced to 5 days?

IMO the best thing we can do is to make damned sure this backfires on the globalist elite.

If those known to have a virus quarantine 14 days, while those who are not contagious are those who are asymptomatic for months now are in lock-down,, yea seems odd, whats the big deal about fourteen days, if both healthy and non healthy are lock-down many weeks already ? Are we not told that masks and gloves and staying home works, if so why make a big deal about quarantine days, if people just followed the guidelines healthy or not, are we not told these guidelines (sic) are prevent the spread of illness ?

If people are so frail, that even a mosquito lands on them they will need a hospital bed, maybe these are people who should quarantine indefinitely like they always have done. If people are healthy but want to take the risk, is it not their life choice?

Those people who are sick or susceptible, or just afraid, just stay home. But for those who are healthy , they should be able to go anywhere, its called freedom .. but now its ass backwards, we cant let the healthy go out until its safe for those with no immunity to use a public restroom at train station ?

For people who think their masks and gloves are so great, just wear them and let the rest if us spread our germs as we always have done, this is what makes the human race stronger, until such time we will cower in darkness..

Who knows.

You may as well ask a shaman, seer, or bone thrower.

It’s all voodoo science describing what 30 years ago would have been called the flu (based on symptoms).

It all depends on who is losing/making money, power or influence. This whole scare was the confluence of the media that wants a story to sell, politicians that want to show action and leadership, “gubbermint” agencies justifying their purpose in life, and TV celeb doctors and a few medical establishments that wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

Since there was a bail out for the big boys like the airlines, and because many like Amazon, Walmart (sold out of a lot of things) actually made money off this, you didn’t get a lot of back pressure. No body cares about some hair dresser named Garcia that goes without a paycheck. She don’t matter except when the TV camera’s are there and it’s election year, then everyone wants to hispander. Without any back pressure (no one with any weight and influence pushed back), things went crazy.

Think of it like this, the pipeline across the US didn’t get built for years because Warren Buffet who owns a major railway would have lost money. They transport the crude. So he pushed back and Obama himself intervened to prevent this pipeline from being built (Buffet is a big Democrat supporter).

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/02/24/keystone-xl-bill-a-k-a-veto-bait-heads-to-presidents-desk/

Obama used “global warming” as his argument but in reality it was just about Buffets railways (dripping oil and burning a lot of diesel to transport all that crude) losing money. In that case the resistance was bad, but it shows how you normally have folks pro and con on the issues. In the Corona virus case you had no one with any power/influence standing in the way and things went stupid.
