I always wondered why Ken Osmond was never offered a role on Adam-12 since he was a member of the LAPD from 1970.

Ummm, because he was an active duty officer at the time and not an actor?

He was shot by an assailant and retired on disability.
He was a motorcycle officer.

I understand that but couldn’t he been allowed by the LAPD to accept acting roles on his time off? I’m sure they allowed Jack Webb to cast real LA cops for Adam-12 and Dragnet.
