I’m from a Minneapolis suburb. Local news explained that the charge had to be elevated to murder 2 or else they couldn’t arrest the 3 other officers. The danger is They could all be acquitted in time and this mess starts all over.
Ellison is already saying it’s hard to convict a cop. I’m not sure he wants to or if he wants more chaos.
They can file with lesser include charges so that if the stricter charge doesn’t hold the lesser can still stand. if the DA doesn’t do that then its a sham/set-up.

I'm not sure what he plans/wants either. However, I do know that he didn't take over the case for altruistic reasons. He wants to be sure it turns out to favor the Deep State Commie/Islamic Revolution.
