Seattle police officers have agreed to only enter the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or the CHOP, to respond to “significant life-safety issues,” according to the mayor’s office.
“The Seattle Police Department’s definition of life-safety issues may include an active shooter incident, an assault, a structure fire, significant medical emergency (i.e. heart attack, stroke, trauma) and other incidents that threaten a person’s life safety,” the office of Mayor Jenny Durkan said on Tuesday.
City officials and organizers occupying the area previously called the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or the CHAZ, reached an agreement to remove temporary roadblocks set in place by protesters and replace them with concrete barriers, reducing the size of the zone from about seven city blocks to just three.
“While there have been inaccurate and misleading depictions of the CHOP from the President and some national media, the City believes first amendment activities can continue while also maintaining public safety and allowing access for residents and businesses who operate in the area,” the mayor's office said in a statement.

I’ve asked this question before.
CHOP is now 10+ days old. No one is moving against the occupiers. Most seem like idiot hippies and drug addicts, but there are also a few serious ideologues and bitter-clingers, who are armed, are likely are prepared to fight - and maybe to die.
No doubt they have spent the past days storing up bunkers and ammunition, preparing bunkers, and lines of defilade and movement. And they will continue to do so as this drags on.
The mayor and city are bending over backwards to accommodate the CHOP activists. And if that succeeds in clearing the zone, then good for them. But I sense there is a core group who will never agree to be cleared out. How will they eventually be dealt with?
Just ignore the whole thing then and let it fester and die. I hope this genius of a mayor realizes there will be deaths involved sooner or later. Not caused by anything but themselves.
They don’t deserve any police protections or response of any kind to any emergency there either.
Since CHOP is now its own country, do people in Washington State need to pay taxes on municipal buildings, streets, etc.?

I say have the cops stay outside to make sure the mess inside the barriers stays inside the barriers, and whatever happens inside belongs to the losers that created it.

*constant ‘year round’ ‘schools’ of intense doctrination and intimidation.

These are not schools, these are mandated, heavily controlled reeducation camps. SCHOOL CHOICE is NECESSARY!
She supports the taking of private property, the defacement of privately owned buildings, the marauding patrols of thugs brandishing AR-15s, of coercion and extortion, and yes, there has been violence and shutdown of persons peacefully protesting in support of a different view.
Durkan will be driven out of Seattle when the coming violence boils over and when the lawsuits start flooding her office.
She’s amazingly stupid thinking she can judge when to uphold and when not to uphold the law.
Let them live in their own garbage and destroy themselves.
It can be a lesson to the rest of the country on what will happen if we let these types of people take control.
I think that as soon as the lockdown is lifted, and all the partying action starts up again, the CHAZ will just go bye-bye. After months of lockdown boredom, in the partying ground-zero of the Pacific Northwest, what did the mayor think was going to happen? She probably figures that at this point, this is just a safety valve letting off some steam. And to a certain extent she’s right, and at least the problem is confined to one area instead of all of downtown. They need to open up all the bars and clubs and entertainment again. Then I can get stuck going down there three or four times a week again. Swell.
But... but... but... It's only a street festival / block party!

I would be wondering if there are any federal buildings or offices in that sections off area and if the feds have signed off on this.
