Of course I'm being facetious, but wanted to call attention to a FoxNews article titled "Retired general says DHS secretary needs 'to be run out of' DC for 'b------t' tactics in Portland"
Yet the first sentence of the article is "Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf should leave his job after his department deployed lawless mobs to contain protests in Portland, Ore., retired Army Lt. Col. Russel Honore said.
I also find it ironic that his name has "Honor" in it.

The article you linked says “Lt. Gen.”. If the original article had it wrong, it has since been corrected.
I believe he’s a retired Lieutenant General.
He won the war in Afghanistan.

Ha! Fox must have gotten immediate blowback over their booboo, because they silently correct the “Lt. Col” to be “Lt. Gen.” now.

Just a thought, George Armstrong Custer was a retired General but died as Colonel.
He was a brevet general, that is, a temporary general. After the war, he was reduced to his permanent rank of Captain. He was later promoted to Lt. Col. to take command of the 7th.
The rules regarding retirement can be complicated, but generally speaking one retires at his highest permanent rank.
Honore was the general who addressed the reporters during Katrina, “Are you guys are stuck on stupid”? (or something like it.)
He's the Hurricane Katrina Task Force commander famous for the "stuck on stupid" comment.

As I recall, we were all thrilled by him when told a reporter at a Hurricane Katrina news conference that he “was stuck on stupid.”
Russel was a moron who was scared of his own shadow. Served under one of his commands back when he was an O-6. Troops were locked down very similar to the lockdowns we had for the Wuhan Flu. He did the same during Katrina with troops. This causes a little mischief and troops who are bored when off duty will do some crazy things. So rather than give a little freedom his answer was to lock them down while he went out on the town.

The accolades on FR are fleeting at best.
I think this LTG is the officer that organized the disorganized Katrina debacle.
Love that some journalist probably didn’t know that Lt Gen was a thing.
