Africans rank way down on the BMI rankings just like the Far East. We know obesity is a major risk factor. Where’s the mystery?

Is the Orient’s low death rate due to good government or the officialdom’s good fortune to preside over a population of skinny people? I know which way I’d swing, given that they’re no great shakes over much else.

Here’s another op-ed touting the same success and a BS narrative about colonialism:

Here’s my guess as to the explanation: (1) Africa has a relatively young population, low life expectancy, and hence fewer old people (2) Africa does not house old people in nursing homes waiting to die (3) No Chinese tourists and shoppers to spread disease. Similar for Europe (4) Africa closed borders more effectively than we did (easier as many of these countries only have a few flights a day to Europe).
