Better with TLS:

Add entry to hosts file to avoid certificate warnings.

Windows:

Open the following as administrator

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

then add:

209.157.64.200 freerepublic.com

Linux:

you know what to do

Thereafter, use the normal URL:

I knew that but I Haven’t touched the host file in years. The security warnings just tell me I did it right. HA!!
