Four of the five county supervisors are Republican. What would be their motivation? Are they all McCain republicans who hate Trump? Somebody who lives down there - speak up.

What would be their motivation?

Many office holders are “bobble heads” or “Go Alongs” as we used to say in the Navy. Easily convinced to sign up for the newest or best packaged technology or method—hard to convince that even looking into a problem, much less admitting that a problem exists is not “opening a can of worms” or “committing professional suicide.”

The County Manager, the Newly elected Recorder (elections supervisor) and most of the staff with input are very likely assuring the Supervisors that nothing is to be gained (and months and months of productive work activities not to mention campaign promises will be delayed.)

The media is not interested in activities that might call the Presidential and Senatorial outcomes into question. They will not be kind to any Supervisor who breaks with the pack.

I also suspect the Republicans are hearing quite a lot from anti-Trump consultants and politicians including Little Lord Ducey. They are likely being told that their own elections might also be questioned or that any future plans can be forgotten.

The Supervisors were presented evidence of serious problems in the previous election cycle and very reluctantly took a few limited actions.

My District 4 Supervisor, Mr. Hickman is an egg producer and uses chickenman@mail.maricopa.gov as his official email address. Now that could be telling.

www.republicanbriefs.org is a good place to go for information Arizona politics.
