I wouldn’t be surprised if the NBA, MLB, NFL, Disney, Ticketmaster, Arc Cinemas, all of them, were compensated by the government for their COVID-related loss of revenue in exchange for quietly going along with the shutdown. There’s far too much money involved that they would just accept that kind of a loss without protest.
I agree. Much payola is afloat these days. More than thirty pieces of silver. But is it “illegal” when oaths of office are not legally binding? Welcome to the world.
