And that is the reason I use when asked why I haven’t been vaccinated. I just got off chemo in March & there was no way I was going to do it! Besides having a weakened immune system I don’t know if research has been done to see how the vaccine would interact with all the drugs. I feel sorry for the woman’s family. I’m sure they were hopeful the treatments were working & then have this happen....
That’s a wise decision. Give your body time to strengthen and recover after a trial of chemotherapy. There’ll be more data down the road to show if the vaccine is safe and effective for people with weakened immune systems. It’s sad and unfortunate what happened to this woman...her body probably needed a break and not to be hit with a vaccine that has not been tested in patients in her condition.
