In a statement Monday citing a July 13 report, the Coast Guard said it had sent a verbal challenge to Chinese warship spotted at Marie Louise Bank. The Chinese vessel eventually moved away from the area, the statement said.

The foreign vessel sent a radio message identifying itself as “Chinese Navy Warship 189” and asked the Philippine ship tailing it to keep distance, the Coast Guard said.

The two nations’ vessels have been locked in a standoff in the South China Sea for months, after hundreds of Chinese ships swarmed disputed territory earlier this year

This is a good think that the CHICOMS keep being aholes to all their neighbors. Destroys the fake front they tried to put for years that they the “nice” superpower, unlike the “bad” imperialist US. And their Belt and Road Initiative is going up in flames too, being exposed as just a state loansharking operation.

The United States, believe it or not, has a special relationship with the Philippines. Once a US Territory, the Philippines were granted their independence after the Second World War was settled, but there were recurring problems and friction about basing US troops and naval personnel, and currently there is virtually no presence there. The Harris/Biden regime would ditch the Philippines in a minute, rather than to face off against China in any significant way.

China has already moved to take over operations at the Clark Air Base and the Subic Bay shipyards, and the Philippines have been badly compromised. They would not stand alone very long against the PLA navy.

“China has already moved to take over operations at the Clark Air Base and the Subic Bay shipyards,”

Commercial endeavors...to the extent they can separated from the Chinese state.

But there has been no Chinese military activity at either.

No ships, no planes, no munitions.
