I think it’s a great idea. He would need to win his local congressional seat in Florida, and then the Republicans would need to take back the majority in 2022 and elect him as Speaker—I’ve always thought that would be the easiest and quickest way to put some check-and-balances back in place.
He doesn’t need to be a congressman to be Speaker.
I think anyway?
Anyone can be speaker

I think it’s a great idea too. Now here’s the interesting thing. The Speaker of the House of Representatives does not have to be a member of the House. So Trump need not win a congressional seat to become Speaker.
You don’t have to be a Congress critter to be speaker.
The Constitution does not require the speaker to be an incumbent member of the House of Representatives, although every speaker thus far has been. The speaker is second in the United States presidential line of succession, after the vice president and ahead of the president pro tempore of the Senate.
Rumor has it that being a Congressman is not a prerequisite to be Speaker.
He would need to win his local congressional seat
This question arises because it has been established that the Speaker of the House does not have to be a member of the lower chamber to become the presiding officer. The United States Constitution does not state that a Speaker must be a member.
With that being said, all Speakers, up to this point, have been from the members of the lower chamber.
I do not think there is a rule in the House that says the Speaker must be a sitting member.
But I don’t think McCarthy, should the Rs take over, would allow it.

Speaker of the House doesn’t need to be a member of Congress. And having him as Speaker after San Fran Man would be heavenly!
