Its always a good idea for government and military to keep close contacts with their counterparts, in all nations, and I would say - especially China. It helps avoid mistakes and miscalculations and allows for understanding of one’s possible adversaries.

But America’s government has become a bloated bureaucracy, made up of corrupted self-interest, and blind ideology. Ours is a government of self-righteous grifters.

Mostly agree.

Those contacts with counterparts in other countries (like between JFK and Kruschev) are important.

Gen. Milley is NOT in the chain of command. His position exists only to advise the POTUS. He had no authority to contact a Chinese General or to tell other military officers that he must be notified of any attack prep action by the CIC.

Milley should be court martialed, reduced in rank and serve time in prison.
