He didn’t. Have a hold of it when he shot him...
I agree grabbing the gun of a scared smaller man is foolish
That whole thing was completely unnecessary
Anger over his wife jacking him over visitation
And a scared man
Some cold ass people
Truly
I know Freepers love this shit...
Lots of scared people ..old people and women on this forum
Note to self
Never grand their gun..lol
The dead guy sealed his fate when he attempted to take the gun from the homeowner.
From that point forward the homeowner was justified in fearing for his life.
Look at the second video. The victim was NOT advancing on the shooter when he was shot.
Neither woman cared...I’m not sure I’d keep guns around either..
You my friend are wise...in a sea of madness
A completely unnecessary and unmerited kill
Let me tell Freepers threshold for killing is about as low as my limbo arc at 64
Now how many actually can....or would ...is different I’ll bet
The man was allegedly supposed to pick up his girl at 3
Ex changed it to 6 without notice...
He’s dead.
Ridiculous
Whatever. Did you watch the 2nd video? The armed man escaped and turned around. The unarmed man was not rushing towards him, yet the armed man shot him anyway. The DA has a tough choice. As we all know too well, DA’s make some stupid decisions. If I were sitting on a trial, I would still have a tough decision, but would ultimately find him not guilty because the man was asked to leave several time, and he chose not to. The moment he tried to grab the gun, tips the scales against him for being the aggressor.
Even when the homeowner put distance between himself and the victim was no longer advancing? Tough case. The DA is probably looking very carefully to decide to charge the shooter or not and will not do like the DA in Kenosha who charged Rittenhouse without investigating.
“Not a hard decision from my perspective.”
Did you watch video 2?
Wifey changed pickup time without notice....at least it seems that way per audio
Likely doesn’t matter.
The dead guy threatened, assaulted and was defying lawful order to leave. The shooter had no duty to retreat and in fact gave the dead guy space, even to the extent that the dead guy was now in “possession” of the others home....
More facts will likely clarify, but the dead guy looks like he earned it.
If you’re going to take the gun, you’d better be focused on gaining control and not some half-assed grab.
Like I said, tough case. I would not want to be on the jury. Was this a justified homicide? I don’t know.
“These were to cocks going at it (as in a FARM setting), being egged on by the former husband’s new wife......New wife was most likely egging her husband on since the marriage about the ex........”
The (deceased) ex-husband was remarried. The shooter was a shack-up boyfriend currently involved in a divorce from his wife and probably living with the dead man’s kids. I took a different “most likely” away from this. New Stud got buttered up, flattered, and leveraged as a weapon in the ex-wife’s father-minimization war against her former husband. That and New Stud’s resources probably accounted for most of his utility to the ex-wife. Last year I told a young man I know who had been manipulated into being the “hero” interloper between his girlfriend’s little boy and the kid’s father that he was being played...and that trashy situations like this often end up getting someone killed, imprisoned, or both.
For all the people involved, especially the son, this case will never be closed. The shooting is not the end. It's the beginning of lives filled with resentment, hate, and anger.
Perhaps it all could have been avoided if the ex wife had simply abided by their custody agreement.
In matters of custody, men have rights too. Some women don't seem capable of accepting this. Children are not pawns for their revenge fantasies.
You see the bigger man’s back, but have no idea if his hands -which don’t see- are reaqching for a pistol or knife. BUT the bigger aggressor ISS blocking a way back into the house for the man with the long gun. I’ shoot him for that, you betcha.
This forum is by and large supportive of killing anyone who hits or pushes you or if you’re really scared of them
I’ve seen this opined here forever
It’s not how I was raised...
This is Texas
Will shooter have castle cover or not....not to me he doesn’t but I’m no lawyer
I am however a doctor with Google and my medicine cabinet ...
As a side note I have been throughly thrashed by a smaller very quick man whist I tried to get my six five 200 plus ahold of him
My head looked I had stood up from my dove stool into a hornets nest
Like a cartoon
I used to have a cash collector...110 wet
Carried a huge Bren
My partner used to say don’t rile him when we’d talk about anyone trying to rob him when he did pulls
“A skinny scared man with a gun will shoot you quick “.. so don’t worry the deposit will be fine lol
I’ve never forgotten that...same adage for a small woman with a carving knife....speaking of which...
“The shooter had no duty to retreat and in fact gave the dead guy space,”
If at that time Chad was not advancing as seen in video 2 it will be a tough case.
The guy was completely out of control. He chose to allow himself to go completely out of control.
Had he not been completely out of control he would not be dead.
I repeat, “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make angry.”
He brought out the gun....
I can see lesser charges here
Now daughter will be raised by man who killed her daddy
Sick
Dunno about that. Going back in the house to get the gun was his mistake. He could have closed and locked the doors and called the cops at that point.
Chad could have backed off at that point and called the cops himself. He had the right to pick up his kids... but getting in the other guys face over it was not the smartest thing to do.
I think a jury is not going to side with him.
