RIP
AAAAA-MEN.
As I remember, he was a good interviewer and had good guests.
Lilies of the Field is my favorite of his. My father shared it with me and was one of his favorite movies.
They don’t make them like this any more.
Bloody ‘Ell. A dead pool.
First, grand ole Betty white. Now, SP.
OK, who’s next? Quick.
He was a tremendous actor and a decent human being. What a loss.
A great one. A teacher and a unifier. RIP.
You would be arrested for hate crimes for even pitching the story.
Agreed. Class and greatness at every turn.
Yes, an extremely impressive career with many accomplishments.
I mean no insult to the late Sidney Poitier, but I have long felt the James Edward’s was a better actor. Edwards’ role in Home of The Brave was years ahead of anything in Poitier’s career. For some reason he was passed by and overshadowed by Poitier.
RIP!
Farewell, Mr. Tibbs. Requiescat in Pace.
Yes, several movies of that era promoted record companies and recording artists. There would be a muffled melodrama strewn with bands onstage doing their hit songs (or wannabee hits). I saw several of them at drive-in theaters back in the day (well, I saw maybe half of each movie, knowwhaddamean, vern?).
Yes. Great movie great cast!
Betty White, Peter Bogdanovich, now Sidney Poitier — deaths seem to come in threes. RIP all.
Not Sidney
One of my top 5 favs of all time. The song was great too.
Was there another one? A remake?............................
