Woman who refused to serve jury duty due to her 'emotional distress' over the reversal of Roe v. Wade faces backlash on TikTok for her 'backwards' and 'misdirected' protest

A woman is facing backlash for her 'backwards' and 'misdirected' protest after announcing she refused to serve jury duty due to her 'emotional distress' over the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

Alyssa Wolfe, who is known as @eatwithlys on TikTok, detailed her scathing response to her recent jury summons in a now-viral video days after the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 ruling that made abortion legal at the federal level.

'I was summoned for jury duty,' she explained in the on-screen text. 'As a woman in my 20s, this is what I had to say...am I wrong though?'

The footage then cut to a screenshot of the email she allegedly sent to the jury coordinator saying she won't be serving jury duty from July 18 to July 22.

'I will NOT be attending jury duty,' the message said. 'In light of ROE V WADE and other basic human rights continuing to be taken, I no longer live in a country that serves me. Therefore, I do NOT feel comfortable serving it.

'Being part of the jury service at this time would put me in extreme emotional distress,' she continued. 'Not to mention my opinions would be completely biased. I hope you understand and are able to find another United States citizen that is actually proud to be such.'

At the end of the video, Wolfe added: 'Stay tuned to see if I’m held in contempt.' She also stated in the caption that 'this is the saddest email I’ve ever had to write.'

I really would not want this brainless airhead on any jury.

These people think they can protest the constitution and get somewhere.

I don’t think “backward” and “misdirected” are words that I’d use when “stupid,” “self-righteous,” “self-centered,” and “insufferable” serve so much better

So when the U.S. Marshals show up on her doorstep, think she’ll stick to this protest thingy? I admit, that would be one video I’d like to see!

Knew a person who politely told a judge that given the judiciary’s role in deciding Roe v Wade and repeatedly over the years protecting the ongoing killing of pre born human life that he did not feel that he could feel comfortable being part of any judiciary proceeding and preferred not to serve as a juror. He would do so, no doubt very poorly and in a poor frame of mind, if coerced to serve. The judge excused him.

Yes. Like so many in your generation, you’re wrong, you’re self-absorbed, you’re obnoxious and you’re boring. We don’t give a rat’s derrière what you have to say.

Maybe our generation was awful when we were in our 20s too. Who knows? At least we didn’t photograph and video ourselves excessively and foist the results onto a global audience. I don’t think we were nearly as fascinated with ourselves as these people are.

I’m sick of them too but expect more of this. They are crybabies and are throwing tantrums because they did not get their way. We need Daddy Trump to come down on them, AGAIN.

Nothing wrong with stating the truth. I was once dismissed as a potential juror in a hate crime case when I told the judge that there was no difference between a hate crime and a thought crime.

She may be in her 20s but she’s still has a hell of a long way to go before she can be classified as a woman.

I hope she’s held in contempt.

And while she’s at it, if she hates this country so much, she can pack her bags and leave.

“The country” does not serve women abortion.

The private sector did. And it wasn’t free. Fees were paid. It may have under certain conditions been subsidized, but it was never free.

And it wasn’t a service of government.

Obviously rationalizing her desire to not have to do jury duty. Its amazing tying two unrelated things to excuse a personal failing.

There compeltely is.

Theres no temporal punishment for a thought crime. Its just in your head but not actually executed.
