Protecting minors from the sexual advances of adults doesn’t violate common sense. This boy has plenty of girls to screw who are roughly his own age. If you think that consent ages for adult sex are too high then work to change them. But the laws are there to dissuade grooming and copulating with minors, irrespective of whether someone wants to high-five the minor. I mean, dude, are American boys undersexed within their own age groups?

Surprisingly maybe. Sex has been dropping like a rock over the past few years. Especially for boys. The wokesters and feminists with the trans indoctrination and legal minefield they created for any heterosexual dude who wanted to get laid, managed to do what the religious conservatives failed to for centuries.
Girls arent boys, and a 17 year old boy is perfectly capable of handling things that wont harm him physically or mentally, no matter how (socially) unwise they are. Nature designed him for this after all.
Imho this is a case of (mutual) ordinary sin, not corruption. It is fornication, not something that calls for millstones.

I don’t mind the law treating men and women the same. Laws can never be perfect.
Yet, if it was my 17-year-old son I’d high-five him and if it was my 17-year-old daughter I’d raise hell and that is right too because boys and girls are different.
