Posted on 08/13/2023 10:15:35 AM PDT by zeestephen

Average temperature is 77-78 degrees at this time of year - The heat wave will be followed by two days around 80 degrees, but with very high Pacific Ocean humidity, so, it will feel the same or worse than near 90 degrees with low humidity - Less than 50% of Seattle homes and apartments are air conditioned, so unusual heat is always a BIG deal around here.

When I was a kid we had a hot summer early 60s in the great NW and everybody on the radio was worried about surfers coming up from California and invading the place...

“Close to 90”?

That would be nice this time of year in Alabama...

Nimbo Cumulos!

Hey, hey watch the language, sailor! No that’s awesome. I’ve Taken and compiled a ton of cloud images over the years. There’s a cloud atlas site that has some impressive stuff on it.

I’ve lived here for 76 years and we have almost always had some summer days in the 90’s.

So now all the heroin addicts will die of heat stroke instead of an overdose.

These particular absences of clouds have been linked, by innumerable scientific studies, to fat capitalist american nationalist isolationist culturally appropriated protectionist white supremist zionist colonialist big-oil misogynist queer-phobic trans-unfriendly educational and manufacturing processes, not to mention SUVs and Christians.

I trust the science.

The Pacific Northwest has been notably below average temperature for the entire summer.

Even if this”big heat” forecast actually comes true, it is localized to Seattle. Everett is forecast for a high of 82 today. Not exactly Death Valley.

If they think that is bad, then there is no way they will move to Georgia. Good.

It’s hot and humid here! It’s August at its best (worst?). It happens every year and some years are worse than others. In a few weeks this weather will have passed and we will begin having less humid days and cooler nights. Until then, stay inside as much as possible and stay hydrated!

Amazon sells small (5,000 BTC) window AC’s for $159.... buy it, put it in the window, and move it to the basement next week.
