Meanwhile, in “how you do it right” news…

Kix? Lol. Did they do more than like two songs “right”. I mean, I like Don’t Close Your Eyeeeeeyes. Like it a lot. But they’d be lucky to open for Aerosmith on their best day….Kix.

Steven Tyler on a live version of “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing “ gets me every time. Every. Daggum. Time.

That song gets me every daggum time I watch Armageddon…..which is quite often.

Aerosmith does a cowboy song.
He’s been singing this since 1976 so…yeah, voice damage?
Amazing how he has lasted.

I would add Ann Wilson to that list, and she’s still going strong.

Tyler’s vocal injury reportedly occurred early in a Long Island concert, yet he chose to continue performing?????

?????
That’s not what I heard.
It happened when he got drunk and fell off the stage at the
“ Chip “ in Sturgis

Rod Stewart’s stage persona, singing style and quite a few of his supporting musicians have not changed since around 1971, when Maggie May was heard coast to coast in America.
Rod hasn’t changed his act very much because he hasn’t had to. He fills a niche.

I kinda think everyone should realize multi-talented is not just being able to walk and chew gum. Regards. 🙂

Of course he is. Daltry and Townsend are the Who.

White ppl all look and sound alike. Except Freddie Mercury.

Are you saying rock stars can’t be rocket scientist(s?)

Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers) would beg to differ.

They had already passed their peak by the time I saw them in ‘77 at the L.A. Forum.

Naw, Run-DMC brought them back in the 80s, and then they put out a couple of decent albums.

Decent, but not close to the level of Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, and Rocks (‘74-‘76). But they did get tighter as a live band later on.

Pack it up, dude. You had a good run. You should've been dead 40 years ago.

It is kind of funny that all the hard partying rockers either seem to die before they turn 40 or live long productive lives well into their 70's and 80's (see Rolling Stones). Lol! Maybe there is something in all those drugs and booze that if it doesn't kill you young, it has a preservative effect that keeps you going strong into your later years.

I don’t think he does it because he thinks he owes anyone anything.

It’s been his life for so long, I don’t think he knows how to live any other way. He probably loves the attention and the groupies.

“Are you saying rock stars can’t be rocket scientist.
Or
Rocket scientist can’t be rock stars.
Or
They are all jerks.
Or Jerks can’t be neither”

Here is the answer to one of your questions.

He’s sounded hoarse for decades. It’s amazing that only now it’s a serious condition.

Jeff “Skunk” Baxter has had the kind of music career that most kids jamming in their parents’ garages could only dream of. He was the guitarist for two big rock ‘n’ roll bands — Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers — played as a session member for musical artists such as Eric Clapton, Dolly Parton and Sheryl Crow, and has toured with the likes of Elton John and Linda Ronstadt.

He also has security clearances and chairs the U.S. Congressional Advisory Board on missile defence.
